I live more in future and glass is always half full. I have about 8 years of experience mostly in agencies on the position of full stack designer that loves WordPress. At the moment the most of my work time is about management and UX design.

Lucijan is a designer from Zagreb helping businesses and startups make informed design decisions, and deliver easy–to–use interfaces to their audience. Over the years, Lucijan helped dozens of clients plan and prototype their idea into a full–featured product or a website — guiding them from the initial phase of defining project goals to information architecture, design, and ultimately delivering clickable prototypes to developers. With a thorough understanding of HTML and CSS, he can build living style guides and design systems that are quickly adopted by developers, thus making some decisions directly in the browser — which benefits clients, developers and users alike. Lucijan is focused on applying various User Experience techniques in his work. By building design systems, he is also empowering others on the team to follow best design practices. He is engaged in the design community — speaking at conferences and sharing his knowledge — determined to do his part and help make the internet a better place for everyone.

I was born in Zagreb, Croatia but fell in love and married a Slovenian girl in 2007 and moved to Slovenia, where we live now, together with our daughter and a chihuahua dog. Even though I finished the University of Economics in Zagreb (Department of Informatics), I have always been fascinated by computers and technology, so with the rise of the Web and web development, I jumped on board and started to create my first HTML-driven websites. At an early stage of my self-training to become a web-developer, I started using WordPress as the CMS of my choice and I made a very good choice. After years of freelancing and working for a renowned Slovenian marketing agency as the main web developer, I got the opportunity to work with OnTheGoSystems, company behind one of my all-time favorite plugins Types and WPML. And this is where I happily am now. I am now a documentation manager for all the company’s projects. I also organize and lead usability testing sessions for our plugins. Working with OnTheGoSystems connected me ever more with the WordPress community and allowed me to start attending WordCamps – and of course speaking at them. I was very lucky to have been chosen on some of them already and every new WordCamp I attend fills me with further ideas, energy, and motivation. Besides WordPress and web, I am a musician with my own musical project Helika. We had the first album was published by one of the region’s biggest record companies but are currently in hibernation for the near future (will be back).
I learned to code before I learned to talk. I’m a Senior WordPress Developer working for Simplicity d.o.o. and for Toptal. I like to help clients build websites that will excite people. My philosophy is that it doesn’t matter what medium is used, the idea and message are always crucial. What I offer to clients is the best mix of creative and strategic thinking with effective and memorable solutions.
